Easy snack for kids: Sprinkled Bananas
This snack is one of my kids’ faves, and when I tweeted a pic of it once, my friend Sharon suggested I post it here for you all to see. So, here you go:
Sprinkled Bananas
• A banana or two
• 1tbs honey or agave syrup
• some non-pareils or sprinkles
Slice the bananas into 1/2″ pieces, dip in honey (or agave), dip in your sprinkles and done! I serve them with teeny cocktail forks because my kids will eat almost anything if it’s served on a cute little fork.
Use green sprinkles for St. Patrick’s Day. Red for Valentine’s Day. The colours I used are cute for Easter. You get the idea. Even my banana-avoiding daughter eats them when they’re this colourful. And the sugar content is still a lot lower than most treats.
Extra tip: My son LOVES just a few sprinkles on his morning oatmeal or cereal. A little goes a long way, and it’s the perfect way to fun-up cereals without buying the really sweet stuff.

ZOMG – the potential is HUGE. You could red and green for Christmas, orange and black for Halloween. You could do all yellow for a Sunny Sunday treat!!!!
Who knew one could have so much fun with a banana?
Wait…
Oh you two…..LOVE IT!
These are absolutely adorable! I can’t wait to try these at home with my kids this weekend. I promise you my pictures will not good as yours, though. My food pictures always suck! Anyway, this is a great idea and SO PRETTY and healthy! Thanks for posting this!
Thanks, L! xo
What a great idea! I have a ridiculous selection of sprinkles for my kids, we will try this today.
I seem to collect sprinkles here, too, so I sprinkle them on lots of stuff. Today we had apple cinnamon steel cut oats, and I put sprinkles on top for Mason, of course. 🙂
