Mason Unwraps a Smile with Kinder Surprise
It’s Halloweek here — all Halloween talk, all the time. The kids have been counting down the days to their sugar comas for days, and Friday can’t come soon enough for them. My daughter doesn’t even care that the forecast says it’s going to rain. She’s already figured out that if there are less kids trick-or-treating, that leaves more candy for her and her little bro. Solid plan, right?
With Halloween comes extra worry for us, since our little dude has allergies to tree nuts and peanuts. You can imagine the extra caution we take screening the kids’ loot when it comes home, and the sad face he often has when he can’t eat something that looks exciting in his candy stash. We get it, we really do. But we can’t risk his life just so he can try that zombie candy with no ingredient list on the package.
This year, instead of just removing the questionable items from Mason’s loot, we’re trading him KINDER® SURPRISE® for the stuff he can’t safely eat. Of course, he doesn’t know that yet — that’s part of the fun.
I love that KINDER® SURPRISE® are made in a peanut- and tree nut-free facility, meaning they’re a totally safe option for Masey. And not only are they safe, they’re pretty much his favourite things, ever.
He’s the reason I wanted to be a part of the KinderMom program. In our house, our kids have been unwrapping smiles for so many years that these foil-wrapped eggs are a tradition for us all.
Mason was pretty excited to put his toy together, but he was even more excited to share his KINDER® SURPRISE® eggs with Story.
Look what she found inside her egg! A super cool Transformers toy — Starscream, to be exact. And she was so delighted to have it, too. (As of mid-September, limited edition Transformer and Disney Fairy toys are available inside specially-marked KINDER® SURPRISE® eggs!)
It’s so easy to unwrap a smile with the kids, this is honestly one of my favourite things to do with them.
And did you know that Canadians can visit the virtual KINDER® Smile Booth by visiting KINDER® Canada’s Facebook page and clicking on the “Smile Booth” tab? There, you can create free, shareable digital photo strips. My kids love them. And if you share them with the #kindersmiles hashtag, it’s aggregated into a digital photo gallery on Facebook for all to see!
Stay tuned for more fun Kinder stuff over the course of this year. I’m really excited to be a part of the program, and hope there’s lotsa fun in it for all of you, too!
