Delicious Paula Roy-inspired Dessert Egg Rolls
Paula Roy makes me hungry on a regular basis. Her recipes are absolutely fantastic and when I saw her Baked Banana Egg Rolls with Caramel-Rum Sauce, I knew I had to make them.
I went a (way) less healthy route and deep friend mine, and made them even more unhealthy by adding chocolate, but, you know, samesies, right?
Hop over to Paula’s post for directions on how to prepare and roll these. Here’s what I filled mine with:
WOW Butter, because my son’s allergic to peanuts and nuts, so this is our go-to.
Then I added some chocolate chips and banana.
Another option I made was with apples and cinnamon, and omg, they’re the tastiest apple pie morsels ever.
Toss diced apples in a mixture of brown sugar and cinnamon:
They’re like the old school McDonald’s apple pies, YUM:
Paula baked hers, but I doubled-down on the unhealthy factor, and deep fried mine. (I even sprinkled them with some cinnamon and brown sugar, as you can see in this pic…)
When they turned golden brown, I removed them and let them sit on paper towel until cooled enough to eat.
And you know what? SO GOOD.
These things are absolutely delicious.
