Calling all young artists: Toyota’s Dream Car Art Contest is on now!
Alexandria and I are so honoured to be Canadian judges for this, the 11th annual Toyota Dream Car Art Contest. What’s cooler than dreaming up ideas for cars of the future? You know cars are our thing, with a close second being the creativity of kids. We can’t wait to see what your kids dream up!
Kids in three age brackets get to design and draw their own dream cars. Round one is run nationally, and art chosen to advance to the second round is judged globally. There will be awards for places 1st through 3rd in the three categories, and winners will take home a super cool 3Doodler Create 3D printing pen, but dream bigger — the grand prize is a trip to Japan if you’re chosen as a global finalist! (Typically, there are about 30 finalists from around the world who are given various awards at the global contest ceremony in Japan — how cool is that!?)
You’ve got until February 3, 2017 to submit your masterpiece to Toyota Canada using their Entry Form.
The cars kids draw should have a general concept, but the possibilities are only limited by kids’ imaginations. Love music? What about a car that makes music whenever it drives? Love to dance? What about a car that has a dance floor on its roof? For full contest rules and regulations, click HERE.
The contest is limited to three age ranges: under 8, 8 — 11, and 12 — 15 years old. (Oh, how I wish there was an over 35 age group.) I would draw that flying car that they told us we would be driving by 2020, for sure. I may not be able to enter, but being a judge is the very next best thing. Alexandria and I can’t wait to see the entries, the ideas, and the talent of the kids submitting work.
So, get your kids to pull out the crayon box, the pencil crayons, the markers, the paints — whatever you’ve got that can make a mark on a page and start drawing.
Dream big, draw lots, and I hope we see some amazing dream cars drive by!
