Our daughter is almost ten, and was never a “doll” type of kid. No baby dolls, no playing mommy, no Barbies or any other dolls were ever loved in our home. I admit I was a little disappointed that we’d never play those things together because dolls were a huge part of my life growing up. I kept my Barbies and Cabbage Patch Kids to pass along to her, but she wanted nothing to do with any of them. I tried to bribe her with adorable look alike dolls, but she wasn’t interested. It wasn’t until she saw Maplelea Girls that the spark was ignited.
When Story fell in love with Maplelea Girls, I was elated. From the moment she saw Charlsea, she knew she loved her. She saved her money for months to be able to afford to buy herself the doll and when Charlsea finally arrived, Story dug an antique cradle out of our garage and made a bed for Charlsea to sleep, brushed her hair, and even taught herself to do braids. It was a unique experience seeing a girl never into this kind of thing playing like that.
Story doesn’t play with her Maplelea Girls the way I would have as a kid. She treats them like buddies, carting them along on shopping trips and road trips, chatting with them about her love of Terraria and Minecraft, and her newfound love of kart racing. It’s magical, really.
This summer, Maplelea sent Story a new friend named Taryn. When that huge box arrived, she was thrilled!
Story was sent Taryn and her Camping Collection, and it’s the most adorable set I’ve ever seen. Before I let Story tell you why she loves Taryn, let me tell you why this is the most amazing Maplelea set.
For just $160, you get $228 worth of gorgeous Maplelea products.
Taryn and her Camping Collection includes:
- KT1 Taryn doll, outfit, keepsake box, story journal (Reg. $99.99)
- KT11 Pop-Up Tent (Reg. $22)
- KT75 Wildlife Set (Reg. $40)
- KT17 Night Owl Nightwear (Reg. $24)
- KT18 Butterfly Bedding (Reg. $30)
- KT350 Overnight Backpack (Reg. $12)
That’s a crazy good deal, and Story mixes and matches the clothing and accessories between her two Maplelea friends.
Story wanted to take her two Maplelea Girls along on our IDontRoadTrip from Ontario to Newfoundland in July, to show them the east coast of Canada. It was adorable how she set them up looking out the rear window of our Mazda 5.
Here’s what Story has to say about Taryn and her adorable camping collection:
“I really love Maplelea dolls, because they are so beautiful to look at, and they’re not creepy like some other dolls are. Taryn looks just like me! I love Taryn because she is really cool — she’s adventurous, and she loves animals, just like me.
Taryn is cute, and her clothes are so well made. Her boots are exactly like my boots, it’s so cool. I love that she has a fun tent to camp with, and her bedding is so cute. It makes me wish I had a tent like hers.
Her hair is really soft, and it never gets tangly like mine, so I love to brush it, and braid it. I love that I can share clothes between my two dolls.
Taryn’s wildlife friends are so adorable, they’re my favourite!
Taryn is so special. I love that she’s so well made that I can keep her for a very, very long time.”
How’s that for an adorable review?
Story’s super excited to be going to her very first Maplelea Meet-Up at Black Creek Village. (And I’m looking forward to it, too! They’ve got so much fun planned for everyone.) Look at all the fun we’ll have:
“Bring your favorite doll and travel back in time! Join us for a unique one-day event dedicated to children having fun with their dolls while learning about Canada’s heritage. August 14th will be a family-friendly blast into the past, full of pioneer adventures, meeting new friends and their dolls, and more at the Maplelea Meet Up! You can shop or treat your doll to a new hairdo at the Maplelea Pop Up Shop, open Sunday from 9 to 5.
Make the day extra special by joining us at the Victorian tea! Even the dolls can pull up their very own seat to enjoy dainty sandwiches, tasty scones, delectable treats and even doll-size snacks at the Victorian tea.
