I just started a new job, and honestly, it’s one of the best, but most challenging things I’ve done in at least a decade. Despite absolutely loving the job, I’m dreaming of weekends when I have time to breathe, and just chill with my peeps. With February upon us, I’ve got the Family Day weekend in my sights. I’ve got some big plans for that weekend, hoping to make the most of the time with my family now that I’m not home as often as I used to be.
Here’s what I’m hoping to do:
Get out of town.
I’m considering planning a family weekend away – somewhere within driving distance. I’ve got my hopes set on somewhere like Hamilton where it’s full of beautiful walking trails. We got snowshoes for Christmas last year and I’m dying to put them to good use! Our family loves a road trip, and that one’s just a short trip away (just long enough for me to annoy the kids with my Disney singalong playlist, mwahahaha!)
Stay in town.
If winter ever commits to coming to our area of Ontario, I’d love to stick around and hit the slopes. We love to ski, and even if the weather doesn’t cooperate for that, I’d love to hike through some of the other amazing local conservation areas.

None of us can skate, can you believe that? It’s true. I don’t even know how we’re allowed to be Canadian, really. The kids ask me all the time to go skating, so maybe Family Day weekend will be the time?
But see, the only downside to all my ideas is that I know my poor feet are going to kill me when it’s all done. I’ve got collapsed arches, and rely on pain meds and orthotics for relief. Thankfully, it’s Dr. Scholl’s® to the rescue. I can slip a pair of Scholl’s® Back Pain Relief Orthotics or Dr. Scholl’s® Heel Pain Relief Orthotics into my shoes and keep on keepin’ on. Both help cushion and absorb shock with every step you take. And for the rest of my aches and pains, ALEVE® Back and Body can quickly and effectively relieve muscle pain, backache and body pain, and is clinically proven to last up to 12 hours. PHEW!
