Balance Your Breakfast with Silk Original Creamy Cashew

I know it’s not de rigeur to say we’re busy anymore, but c’mon, we really are. My mornings are so hectic, by the time I’ve dropped the kids off, sometimes I need to remind myself to take a deep breath and just relax for a few minutes. In the rush, I often neglect my own health by forgoing breakfast, or grabbing something carb-y but not necessarily wholesome.

Now, with Silk Original Creamy Cashew, my breakfast is delicious, healthy, balanced and fast.

My daughter and I can’t have dairy in most forms, so we miss out on all those easy ways to get calcium and vitamin D. Silk Original Creamy Cashew is perfect over steel cut oats, in baked goods, smoothies, or even straight from the carton with cookies – it really is creamy and delicious. What’s more, it’s got 33% fewer calories than skim milk, if that’s a concern for you. For more recipe ideas, visit them online.

Although we have to be super careful and diligent about cleaning up after drinking this cashew beverage because of my son’s allergy, Silk Original Creamy Cashew is a great substitute for those avoiding dairy, soy, lactose, gluten, casein, egg or MSG. And there are no artificial colours or flavours.

Silk Original Creamy Cashew is perfect in smoothies

This morning, instead of neglecting my health, I whipped up this delicious, filling and healthy smoothie before jetting out the door.

This smoothie has the nutrition and flavour to keep you going

1 shot of espresso
1C Silk Original Creamy Cashew
1tbs chia seeds
1 banana
1C ice cubes

You could also add a dash of cocoa to the mix for a chocolate-y kick.

Throw it all in the blender and blend, it’s that easy!

The flavor is absolutely fantastic, and the creamy texture is perfect. It’s also very filling, which I find is often not the case with the dairy-free smoothies I generally make. Enjoy!
