I have the unique experience of being the parent to a child with life-threatening allergies who suddenly outgrew those allergies. Not a day goes by when I’m not thankful for his good fortune, but just because I’m no longer an allergy parent doesn’t mean I’m not still a vocal advocate for food allergy awareness. I may not write at Irritated by Allergies, but I still spend a lot of time chatting with other parents about navigating the tricky food allergy waters, and talk often about the importance of understanding the seriousness of these allergies to those who don’t deal with them.
